The Mojito is the national drink of Cuba, made with light rum, sugar, lime juice and mint. A tantalisingly refreshing cocktail!
Many believe it is possibly the world’s first cocktail, with its origins dating back to 16th century Cuba. Then it was called “El Draque” in honour of explorer and sailor Sir Francis Drake. Legend has it the drink was first concocted by the pirates of old as a means of covering up the harsh taste of their primitive form of rum.
Serving Suggestion: Shake with ice and pour into a highball glass before garnishing with fresh mint leaves. If desired, top with soda to taste.
