Created with a mixture of golden rum, triple sec, lime juice and orgeat syrup, the Mai Tai is a sweet, fruity and fun cocktail.
This is a cocktail with a controversial past, however the favoured history is that it was first created by “Trader Vic” in the 1940s in his Polynesian themed restaurant. Trader Vic concocted the drink in honour of his visitors from Tahiti, who cried out “Maitai Roa” when they tasted it, translating as “very good”! Hence the name “Mai Tai” was born!
Serving Suggestion: Shake with ice and pour into a double rocks glass. Garnish with fresh fruits and/or colourful exotic flowers.
